  • The knurled knob is part of the fuel shut off valve assembly, located on the east side of the diesel and is painted orange.
  • If the Examinee indicates that he is overriding the fuel shut off valve by turning the black fluted knob (engine rpm adjust), provide the following cue:
  • The knob does not turn.
  • If the Examinee indicates that he has undone the locking device for the engine rpm adjust, provide the following cue:
  • The locking device is disengaged and the knob is rotated fully clockwise.
