Correction to Calvert Cliffs Fitness for Duty Exemption (ME6738/ME6739)

Date:Tuesday, July 10, 2012 2:07:01 PMMs. Morgan, Based on a discussion with the NRC staff on July 9, 2012, we wish to clarify a statement in ourexemption request dated July 21, 2011.

In that request we stated that the exemption does notinclude discretionary maintenance and described what we considered to be non-discretionary maintenance.

We said that work required to allow the plant to restart following a storm(hurricane, tropical storm, winter storm) is not discretionary.

That statement encompasses actionsto ensure that the Calvert Cliffs Units achieve and maintain a safe and secure status and can be safely restarted, not that the Units would be restarted during the exemption period.

Additionally, in our March 1, 2012 response to NRC questions about the exemption, our response#5 provided three examples of criteria to be used by plant management when resuming work hour controls. We would like to clarify that these three criteria are not examples, but the actual criteriathat will be used by plant management to resume work hours controls.

We apologize for any confusion this may have caused.
