The first gives national population projections out to 2050. The second gives state population projections out to 2008.

Comparing US and NY data, it is clear that NY population is growing a lot slower than the national average. We may need to strategize on how to deal with this. Simply applying USwide census growth projections (about 0.9%/yr) to the area around Indian Point gives something like a 35% growth between 2000 and 2035 compared with Indian Point's and your estimate of about 14%. The state of NY growth projection is much more modest. I haven't looked at the other states within the 50mile radius, but those should be factored in.

Emailing: NationalPopulationProjection2008-t1.xls, StatePopulationProjections2008-01.xls Attachments: NationalPopulationProjection2008-t1.xls; StatePopulationProjections2008-01.xls I'm attaching two spreadsheets that I downloaded from the US Census Bureau web site.
