The acceptancereview is also intended to identify whether the license amendment request has any readilyapparent information insufficiencies in the characterization of the regulatory requirements orthe licensing basis of the plant. The NRC staff has reviewed your request to amend your license and concluded that itprovides technical information in sufficient detail to enable the NRC staff to complete itsdetailed technical review and make an independent assessment regarding the acceptabilityof the license amendment request in terms of protection of public health and safety and theenvironment. Given the lesser scope and depth of the acceptance review as compared tothe detailed technical review, there may be instances in which issues that impact the NRCstaff's ability to complete the detailed technical review are identified despite completion ofan adequate acceptance review. These estimates are based on the NRC staff's initial review of the applicationand they could change, due to several factors including requests for additional information,unanticipated addition of scope to the review, and review by NRC advisory committees orhearing-related activities.
