The Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) has reviewed the test results provided in BWRVIP-271 NP(Reference) and determined that the Pressure-Temperature (P-T) Limits Curvescontained in the Browns Ferry Nuclear Plant (BFN), Unit 2, Technical Specifications (TS) Figures 3.4.9-1 and 3.4.9-2 are non-conservative.
Corrective actions are beingmanaged by TVA's corrective action program under Problem Evaluation Report816957.BFN is treating the non-conservative P-T Limits Curves as a degraded condition andhas established compensatory measures to ensure that the BFN, Unit 2, ReactorVessel is maintained within acceptable limits. As part of the BFN, Unit 2, LicenseRenewal Application, TVA committed to submit revised BFN, Unit 2, P-T Limits Curvesprior to the period of extended operation.
As such, WVA will submit a LicenseAmendment Request to revise the BFN, Unit 2, P-T Limits Curves by June 27, 2014.The approval and implementation of the revised P-T Limits Curves will resolve thedegraded condition.
