By letter dated January 29, 2014, 1 PPL Susquehanna, LLC (PPL, the licensee) submitted a license amendment request (LAR) for Susquehanna Steam Electric Station, Units 1 and 2 (SSES) for U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) review. The proposed license amendments requested changes to the current licensing basis for one postulated accident analysis described in the SSES Updated Final Safety Analysis Report. Specifically, the license amendments requested to make changes in calculations for the Control Room Habitability Envelope and Offsite Post Loss-of-Coolant Accident doses to permit higher allowable Standby Gas Treatment System (SGTS) exhaust maximum flow rates from secondary containment as described in the Technical Specification Bases. By letter dated May 13, 2014, 2 the licensee stated, in part, that: Subsequently, PPL implemented modifications and performed additional tests that indicate the LAR is no longer necessary to resolve margin concerns in meeting SGTS exhaust maximum flow rates from secondary containment.

As a result, PPL is withdrawing the LAR at this time. The purpose of this letter is to acknowledge your request to withdraw the LAR. Based on the withdrawal of the LAR, TAC Nos. Dear Mr. Rausch:

By letter dated January 29, 2014, 1 PPL Susquehanna, LLC (PPL, the licensee) submitted a license amendment request (LAR) for Susquehanna Steam Electric Station, Units 1 and 2 (SSES) for U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) review. By letter dated May 13, 2014, 2 the licensee stated, in part, that:

Subsequently, PPL implemented modifications and performed additional tests that indicate the LAR is no longer necessary to resolve margin concerns in meeting SGTS exhaust maximum flow rates from secondary containment. As a result, PPL is withdrawing the LAR at this time.

The purpose of this letter is to acknowledge your request to withdraw the LAR. Based on the withdrawal of the LAR, TAC Nos. MF3421 and MF3422 are being closed.
