==SUBJECT:==
MILLSTONE POWER STATION, UNIT NO.2 - REQUEST FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION REGARDING AMENDMENT REQUEST TO REVISE THE SNUBBER TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION SURVEILLANCE REQUIREMENTS (TAC NO. ME7221)
==Dear Mr. Heacock:==
By letter dated September 21, 2011,1 Dominion Nuclear Connecticut, Inc. (DNC or the licensee),
submitted a license amendment request (LAR) for Millstone Power Station, Unit No.2 (MPS2).
The proposed change would modify Technical Specification 3/4.7.8 "Snubbers," to conform to the revised MPS2 inservice inspection program. The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission staff has reviewed the information provided by the licensee and has determined that additional information is needed in order to complete the review. The NRC staff requests responses to the enclosed questions.
The draft questions were sent to Ms. Wanda Craft, of your staff, to ensure that the questions were understandable, the regulatory basis for the questions was clear, and to determine if the information was previously docketed. On February 7, 2012, Ms. Craft agreed that DNC would provide a response by March 7, 2012. Please note that if you do not respond to this letter by the agreed-upon date or provide an acceptable alternate date in writing, we may reject your application for amendment under the provisions of Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations, Section 2.108.
If you have any questions regarding this matter, please contact me at 301-415-1603.
