EA for BRP (DPR-6) in consideration of an exemption request Dear Mr. Yale -
Thank you for taking my call this afternoon. Per our conversation, please find attached the draft environmental assessment (EA) and finding of no significant impact (FONSI) for the Big Rock  Point (BRP) Independent Spent Fuel Storage Installation (ISFSI).
The EA was performed to evaluate the environmental impacts of the proposed exemption  request submitted by Entergy Nuclear Operations (ENO) for the BRP ISFSI. ENO submitted the  exemption request by letter dated June 20, 2012. ENO requested exemption from specific  portions of 10 CFR 50.47 and 10 CFR Part 50, Appendix E.
Based upon the analysis contained in this EA, the staff concludes that the proposed action will  not have a significant impact on the quality of the human environment. Accordingly, the staff has  determined that preparation of an environmental impact statement is not warranted. This  conclusion will be documented in the Federal Register as required by 10 CFR 51.35.
