The Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) acknowledges the receipt of your responses toGeneric Letter 2006-03, "Potentially Nonconforming Hemyc and MT Fire Barrier Configurations.Under oath or affirmation, you have stated that your nuclear power plant doesnot rely on either the Hemyc or MT fire barrier system. You have submitted documentation under oath or affirmation that other 1 or 3-hour fire barriers that separates redundant safeshutdown trains located within the same fire area have been designed and installed in accordance with current NRC guidance. Based on your responses, dated June 5 and August 4, 2006, the basis for stating that this other fire barriers have been designed andinstalled in accordance with NRC guidance should be maintained on site, and will be subject toinspection during the normal NRC inspection process. Under oath or affirmation, you have stated that your nuclear power plant does not rely on either the Hemyc or MT fire barrier system. You have submitted documentation under oath or affirmation that other 1 or 3-hour fire barriers that separates redundant safe shutdown trains located within the same fire area have been designed and installed in accordance with current NRC guidance. Based on your responses, dated June 5 and August 4, 2006, the basis for stating that this other fire barriers have been designed and installed in accordance with NRC guidance should be maintained on site, and will be subject to inspection during the normal NRC inspection process.
