JOINT STATUS REPORT ON SETTLEMENT DISCUSSIONS Pursuant to the Atomic Safety and Licensing Boards February 16, 2010 Order (Granting Joint Motion to Hold Disclosures in Abeyance), Northern States Power Company, a Minnesota corporation (NSPM), on its own behalf and on behalf of the Prairie Island Indian Community (PIIC), submits this joint report on the status of settlement discussions between the PIIC and NSPM.
On February 25, 2010, and following up on an earlier discussions between counsel for NSPM and counsel for the PIIC, NSPM provided a letter outlining items for consideration. After further communications, representatives of NSPM and the PIIC met on March 12, 2010 to discuss the proposals, and a further meeting is being held today. While the parties have not yet reached an agreement, the discussions have been constructive. Accordingly, NSPM and the PIIC are continuing their efforts to reach a settlement agreement and, unless settlement discussions are concluded earlier, will provide a further status report by April 19, 2010.
Counsel for the PIIC has reviewed this joint status report and has authorized NSPM to file it on the PIICs behalf.
