NRC STAFFS NOTICE OF INTENT TO PARTICIPATE AS A PARTY Pursuant to 10 C.F.R. § 2.1202(b), the NRC staff (Staff) is required to notify the Atomic Safety and Licensing Board (Board), within fifteen (15) days of the issuance of an order granting a request for a hearing, whether it desires to participate as a party and to identify the contentions with respect to which it wishes to participate as a party. On August 4, 2010, the Board issued a Memorandum and Order (Rulings on Standing, Contention Admissibility, Waiver Petition, and Selection of Hearing Procedures) wherein the Board granted standing to the San Luis Obispo Mothers for Peace and admitted (as reformulated by the Board) certain Contentions. The Staff hereby notifies the Board of its intent to participate as a party in this adjudicatory proceeding with respect to all of the admitted contentions.
