"At approximately 0830 EST on February 12th, 2014, a live sturgeon was removed from the Salem Unit 2 Circulating Water System (CWS) Intake trash racks at the Salem Generating Station. The sturgeon was confirmed by a site biological expert to be an Atlantic sturgeon which is an endangered species. Atlantic sturgeons are federally listed as 'endangered' species under the Endangered Species Act of 1973, as amended. Nuclear Environmental Affairs has made a determination that this is a 4 hr. report to the NRC under RAL 11 .8.2.a.
