The Nuclear Energy Institute (NEI) 1 appreciates the opportunity to provide comments on the subject draft test plan, "Aluminum High Energy Arc Fault (HEAF) Particle Size Characterization Test Plan -Draft Test Plan." Per the referenced Federal Register announcement, we understand that the NRC requests comments by April 4, 2018. Given that the NRC is holding a workshop on this draft test plan April 18-19, 2018, we respectfully request that the NRC extend the public comment period for an additional 45 days, to May 19, 2018, such that the proceedings of the workshop can inform our comments.
