Subject:

Update of Facility Security Clearance for the Nuclear Energy Institute, Inc.

Dear Mr. Brady:

This letter updates the Nuclear Energy Institutes facility security clearance as required by 10 CFR Part 95, which states:

A licensee, certificate holder, or other person must update its NRC facility clearance every five years either by submitting a complete Standard Practice Procedures Plan [SPPP] or a certification that the existing plan is fully current to the Division of Security Operations. 1 By letter dated September 14, 2021, NEI submitted a letter to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) conveying an updated SPPP incorporating commitments establishing an insider threat program. NEI certifies as fully current the SPPP provided as enclosure one to our September 14 letter.

Please contact me at (202) 739.8123; wrg@nei.org if you have any questions.

Sincerely, William R. Gross c: NRC Document Control Desk 1

By letter dated July 19, 2018, NRC informed NEI that the NRC cognizant security office for NEIs facility security clearance was changed from the Office of Nuclear Security and Incident Response (NSIR) to the Office of Administration (ADM). NEI was directed to communicate with ADM for all future industrial security related correspondence.
