The Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station has three pressurized water reactors, Units 1, 2 and 3, that are located 55 miles west of Phoenix, Ariz. The current operating licenses will expire for Unit 1 on June 1, 2025; Unit 2 on April 24, 2026 and Unit 3 on Nov. 25, 2027.

The application is available electronically through the Agencywide Document Access and Management System through the NRC Web page at www.nrc.gov/reading-rm/adams/web-based.html. The accession number of the application is ML083510627. A copy is also available at the Litchfield Park Branch Public Library, 101 West Wigwam Blvd., Litchfield Park, Ariz. 85340. In addition, the application will be available at http://www.nrc.gov/reactors/operating/licensing/renewal/applications.html.

The NRC staff is currently conducting its initial review of the application to determine whether it contains enough information required for the formal safety and environmental reviews. If the application has sufficient inform ation, the NRC will formally "docket," or file it and will announce an opportunity for the public to request an adjudicatory hearing on the renewal request.

Additional information about the NRC's process for reviewing reactor license renewal applications is available on the NRC Web site at:
