Victor Dricks (817) 200-1128 E-Mail: OPA4.Resource@nrc.gov Lara Uselding (817) 200-1519 NRC NAMES NEW RESIDENT INSPECTOR AT PALO VERDE NUCLEAR GENERATING STATION The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission has selected Dustin Reinert as the new resident inspector at the Palo Verde nuclear plant located 60 miles west of Phoenix, Ariz.

Dustin Reinerts background and experience will assist the NRC in carrying out its mission of protecting people and the environment and ensuring the safe operation of nuclear power plants, said NRC Region IV Administrator Elmo E. Collins.

Reinert joined the NRCs Region IV office in Arlington, Texas in 2008. He graduated from the agencys Nuclear Safety Professional Development Program and has been working as a reactor inspector. Reinert has also served as acting resident inspector at the Cooper, Wolf Creek, and Palo Verde nuclear power plants. Reinert holds a bachelors degree in mechanical engineering and masters and doctorate degrees in mechanical engineering from the University of Texas at Austin.

Each U.S. commercial nuclear power plant site has at least two NRC resident inspectors.

Reinert joins resident inspector Mica Baquera and senior resident inspector Tony Brown. They serve as the agencys eyes and ears at the facility, conducting inspections and monitoring significant work projects.
