Request for Extension of the Implementation Period for License Amendment Request No. 326 to Adopt TSTF-490-A, Revision 0, "Deletion of E Bar Definition and Revision to Reactor Coolant System Specific Activity Technical Specification Using the Consolidated Line Item Improvement Process"

Reference:

(1) Letter from P.B. Cowan to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission, "License Amendment Request No. 326 to Adopt TSTF-490-A, Revision 0, "Deletion of E Bar Definition and Revision to Reactor Coolant System Specific Activity Technical Specification," dated November 6, 2008.

By letter dated November 6, 2008 (Reference 1), AmerGen Energy Company, LLC, now Exelon Generation Company, LLC (Exelon), requested an amendment to the Technical Specifications for Three Mile Island Nuclear Station, Unit 1 (TMI, Unit 1). In the Reference 1 submittal Exelon requested approval of the proposed amendment by November 6, 2009 with an implementation period of 60 days. Due to the extenuating circumstances surrounding the TMI, Unit 1 upcoming refueling outage in the fall of 2009, Exelon is requesting a 120-day implementation period instead of the previously requested 60-day implementation period.

I declare under penalty of perjury that the foregoing is true and correct. Executed on the 2 nd day of October, 2009.
