The Reference letter submitted the Technical Specifications (TS) Bases for Three Mile Island Nuclear Station, Unit 1 (TMI-1) as required by the existing TS at that time. Subsequently, on August 30, 2022, TMI-1 implemented the Independent Spent Fuel Storage Installation Only Technical Specifications (ISFSI-Only TS) as approved by the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) under Amendment No. 304 (ML22081A231, ML22081A229). Prior to implementation of the ISFSI-Only TS, the TMI-1 Permanently Defueled Technical Specifications (PDTS) were in effect as approved by the NRC under Amendment No. 297 (ML19211D317).

TS Section 6.18.d of the PDTS stipulated that any changes to the TS Bases implemented without prior NRC approval shall be provided to the NRC on a frequency consistent with 10 CFR 50.71(e). In conjunction with the implementation of Amendment No. 304 (ISFSI-Only TS) on August 30, 2022, TS Section 6.18.d was deleted, thereby eliminating the requirement to submit the TS Bases information. As a result, submittal of TS Bases changes for TMI-1 is no longer required.
