On March 12, 2012, the NRC issued "Request for Information Pursuant to Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations 50.54(f) Regarding Recommendations 2.1, 2.3, and 9.3 of the Near-Term Task Force Review of Insights from the Fukushima Dai-ichi Accident" (Information Request) to all NRC power reactor licensees and holders of construction permits in active or deferred status. In addition to requiring detailed information, the Information Request requires recipients to confirm receipt in writing within 30 days, and that the confirmation be signed under oath or affirmation.

In accordance with this requirement, Carolina Power & Light Company and Florida Power Corporation hereby submit notice to the NRC that they have received the Information Request and are currently assessing its contents and evaluating responses. Future responses will be provided to the NRC consistent with the terms of the Information Request.

This letter contains no new regulatory commitments.
