NRC Letter to Duke Energy Progress, LLC, Shearon Harris Nuclear Power Plant, Unit 1 - Special Inspection Report 05000400/2023440 and Preliminary Greater than Green Finding and Apparent Violation, dated July 17, 2023 Mrs. Worosilo:

Duke Energy Progress, LLC (Duke Energy), received the referenced letter dated July 17, 2023, regarding a finding with an associated apparent violation that the NRC has preliminarily determined to be Greater than Green, as described in Special Inspection Report 05000400/2023440. Duke Energy does not plan to contest the apparent violation nor take exception to the preliminary significance determination. A Regulatory Conference will not be necessary to address this finding. A written response addressing the requested content of the referenced letter will be submitted to the NRG within 40 days of the date of the letter.

The content above aligns with the communicated message conducted via phone on July 20, 2023, regarding Duke Energy's intentions related to the apparent violation.
