Package Number USA/9321/B(U)-96 Ladies and Gentlemen:

Southern Nuclear Operating Company (SNC) operates the Edwin I. Hatch Nuclear Plant under the provisions of Renewed License Numbers DPR-57 and NPF-5 for Units 1 and 2, respectively. In accordance with 10 CFR 71.17(c)(3), SNC hereby provides notification of its plan to utilize the Energy Solutions Model No. 3-608, Type B, transportation package, package identification number USA/9321/B(U)-96, in accordance with the terms and conditions of Certificate of Compliance 9321, Revision 2, for shipment of radioactive material from Edwin I. Hatch Nuclear Plant.

In accordance with the provisions of 10 CFR 71.101 (f), activities associated with the general license will be performed in accordance with the SNC Quality Assurance Topical Report (QATR), previously reviewed by the NRC and determined to meet the requirements of 10 CFR 71, Subpart H, as described in NRC Safety Evaluation Report dated June 21, 2007 (ADAMS Accession Number ML071510506).
