SUBJECT:

OMAHA PUBLIC POWER DISTRICT - REQUEST FOR LICENSE AMENDMENT TO REVISE LICENSE TERMINATION PLAN - REQUEST FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION, LICENSE NO. DPR-40 (L-2024-LLA-0095)

Dear Benjamin Pearson:

By letter dated June 18, 2024 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML24177A132), and as supplemented by letter dated October 2,2024 (ML24276A217). Omaha Public Power District (OPPD) requested the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) to approve a request to amend the license for Fort Calhoun Station, Unit No. 1 (FCS). The amendment would approve Revision 2 of the FCS License Termination Plan (LTP), Revision 1 of which was originally approved by license amendment dated January 31, 2024 (ML24019A145).

A regulatory audit of the FCS LTP amendment request was started on January 16, 2025 (ML25023A155). The NRC staff has identified additional information needed to continue its environmental review of the LTP Revision 2 amendment request, as described in the enclosed request for additional information (RAI).

The response to the RAI must be submitted in accordance with Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations (10 CFR) 50.4, Written communications, and pursuant to 10 CFR 50.30(b), Oath or affirmation, be executed in a signed original document under oath or affirmation. Information included in the response that OPPD considers sensitive or proprietary, and seek to have withheld from public disclosure, must be marked in accordance with 10 CFR 2.390, Public inspections, exemptions, requests for withholding. Any information related to safeguards should be submitted in accordance with 10 CFR 73.21, Protection of Safeguards Information: Performance Requirements.

If you have any questions regarding the NRC staffs review, please contact me at (301) 415-6634 or by electronic mail at jack.parrott@nrc.gov.

Sincerely, Jack D. Parrott, Senior Project Manager Reactor Decommissioning Branch Division of Decommissioning, Uranium Recovery and Waste Programs
