[External_Sender] RE: JRF SER: Courtesy Proprietary Review Date: Monday, June 5, 2023 11:53:07 AM Attachments: Corrected JAEA comments_SAFETY EVALUATION REPORT_Revision at Concurrence_w_Watermark.docx

Dear Norma:

Please find attached the corrected comments from JAEA. This was also uploaded into the Box file. The value in Section 7.2.3.2 was incorrectly highlighted in yellow and is in fact non-proprietary; the value can be included in the SER. This is consistent with the Non-Proprietary version of the SAR for this package that was previously submitted.

We note that the value in section 7.2.1.2 has already been removed from the SER, and that the other information identified as proprietary will be removed from the SER, but that there is information in the certificate that is not redacted.

Please let me know if you need anything else to finalize the SER.

Thank you, best regards, Russell Russell Neely Chief Operating Officer Edlow International Company Tel: +1 202 483 4959 From: Norma Garcia Santos <Norma.GarciaSantos@nrc.gov>

JRF SER: Courtesy Proprietary Review Good morning again, Since I sent you the draft document to facilitate you review, the value in section 7.2.1.2 has been removed from the SER. Note that the value in section 7.2.3.2 is not redacted from the non-proprietary version of the SAR that you submitted to NRC (ADAMS Accession No. ML23058A279). If the value is considered proprietary, you will need to submit a redacted version of the SAR and an affidavit stating that the dose rate for the shock absorber material in Section (II)-Table F.2, Evaluation(add the entire title of the table) is considered proprietary. Also, I will need to remove the document(s) including this value from the public domain since the value was not identified as proprietary in the SAR included in your application.

I want to note that the other information identified as proprietary will be removed from the SER. However, note that there is information in the certificate that is not redacted.

I will wait on your response.

Thanks in advance, Norma From: Russell Neely <rneely@edlow.com>

[External_Sender] RE: JRF SER: Courtesy Proprietary Review

Dear Norma:

I have uploaded the comments from our client, JAEA, into the Box account. I uploaded 2 documents:

1. The draft SER with yellow highlighted portions that JAEA considers proprietary; and
2. A separate Word document that details a suggested correction by JAEA to a value in Section 7.2.2.2.

I have also attached the 2 documents to this email for reference.

Thank you for your kind assistance and please let me know if you need anything else on this.

JRF SER: Courtesy Proprietary Review Importance: High Good afternoon.

The SER for the JRF revalidation request is still in concurrence and my goal is to issue a public safety evaluation report and revalidation recommendation next week.

Due to the need date of this action, I am sending the SER going through concurrence for a courtesy proprietary review. With this in mind, review the document and highlight any information considered proprietary and drop the document in the NRCs box NLT next Tuesday, June 6. The document may slightly change, but conclusions should remain the same.

Thanks in advance, Norma Garcia Santos Project Manager Storage and Transportation Licensing Branch Division of Fuel Management Office of Nuclear Material Safety and Safeguards
