1 and 2 Document: NRC-2020-0234-DRAFT-0149 Comment on FR Doc # 2021-18255 Submitter Information Email: ucanmailjackie@yahoo.com Organization: Sierra Club General Comment This is in regards to Docket ID NRC-2020-0234: Please do not allow Dominion to operate the Lake Anna plant for 80 years. In 2011 that plant was shut down when an earthquake - exceeding the plants design specs - struck 11 miles away from the plant. We must no move forward without assessing the effects of the Lake Anna dam breaking. What would happen if there were no water to cool the reactor?

Would another Chernobyl occur? Whats the likelihood of another earthquake occurring? Will it exceed what the plants were built to withstand? Why wont NRC allow a public hearing on this?

- The NRC should require a new Environmental Impact Statement which includes a thorough examination of geologic risks. (This has not been done since the 2011 earthquake.)

- A new assessment of Severe Accident Mitigation Alternatives (SAMA) should be conducted by Dominion. (The last SAMA occurred in 2001.)

- Harvesting and testing of components of the North Anna reactors to determine if they can operate safely for 80 years.

- A new assessment of the structural integrity of the Lake Anna damn which holds the water for cooling the reactors.

- An updated plan for the safe storage of the increasing radioactive waste stored at the power station.

- A full public hearing on the license application which allows the public to speak and considers independent expert testimony.
