Fredericksburg, VA, 22403-5787 Email: billatthelake@comcast.net Phone: 540-657-1733 General Comment Docket ID NRC-2020-0234. We request:

  • The NRC should require a new Environmental Impact Statement which includes a thorough examination of geologic risks. (This has not been done since the 2011 earthquake.)
  • A new assessment of Severe Accident Mitigation Alternatives (SAMA) should be conducted by Dominion. (The last SAMA occurred in 2001.)
  • Harvesting and testing of components of the North Anna reactors to determine if they can operate safely for 80 years.
  • A new assessment of the structural integrity of the Lake Anna damn which holds the water for cooling the reactors.
  • An updated plan for the safe storage of the increasing radioactive waste stored at the power station.
  • A full public hearing on the license application which allows the public to speak and considers independent expert testimony.
