Letter, Holtec Decommissioning International, LLC to US NRC, Report on Status of Decommissioning Funding for Reactors and Independent Spent Fuel Storage Installations, March 31, 2020 (ML20091M858)

On March 31, 2021, Holtec Decommissioning International, LLC (HDI) submitted the annual status of decommissioning funding, status of funding for managing irradiated fuel, and the financial assurance report for Oyster Creek Nuclear Generating Station (Oyster Creek) and Pilgrim Nuclear Power Station (Pilgrim) (Reference 1). The annual decommissioning funding assurance report for Pilgrim Station is provided in Enclosure 2 to Reference 1. Figure 1 to, provides a waterfall chart which depicts the overall Pilgrim Decommissioning Schedule Timeline.

HDI has identified an error in the Pilgrim Station Decommissioning Schedule Timeline (Figure 1, to Reference 1). Specifically, HDI has confirmed that the schedules for the decom-missioning activities to prepare and submit the License Termination Plan (LTP) and NRC review and approval of the LTP, need to be revised to reflect the HDI planned schedule. The revision provided in this letter aligns the HDI schedule with the NRC regulations and guidance for the Li-cense Termination process. to this letter provides the revised Figure 1 Pilgrim Station Decommissioning Schedule Timeline depicting the specific changes.

Singh Technology Campus, 1 Holtec Blvd., Camden, NJ 08104 Telephone (856) 797-0900 Fax (856) 797-0909 HDIPIL21052 Page2of2 The identified site schedule change was reviewed and evaluated against 10 CFR 50.82 criteria for implementing changes to the initial Post Shutdown Decommission Activities Report (PSDAR)

(References 2) as revised previously in the March 2020 and March 2021 annual decommissioning updates (References 1 and 3). The schedule change was determined to be consistent with the actions and schedule described in the PSDAR and does not significantly increase the Pilgrim decommissioning schedule and cost estimate.

There are no regulatory commitments contained within this letter.
