Jake Rushlow Legislative Director for Pauline Wendzel N-1098 House Office Building P.O. Box 30014. Lansing, MI 48909 C: 269-876-1543 O: 517-373-5590

March 4th, 2021 The Nuclear Regulatory Commission 11555 Rockville Pike Rockville, MD 20852 To Whom It May Concern:

On behalf of the people of Southwest Michigan, Im writing to express my strong support of the transfer of ownership of Entergys Palisades Power Plant to Holtec International after the plant ceases operations in 2022.

Throughout my time in office, Entergys Palisades Power Plant has been unparalleled in their communication with my office and their support for the local community. With the transfer of site ownership to Holtec, Im expect there will be that same level of community and stakeholder outreach with the new license holder.

Holtec International is globally recognized as a leader in the nuclear industry. As Entergy has used their experience and resources to show our community and state the benefits of safe, reliable, and affordable clean energy, Holtec will use their experience and technology to safely decommission the plant well ahead of schedule while protecting the environment. Im confident Holtec will successfully return the area to a state where the site can be used for redevelopment, creating new jobs for the hardworking people of my community.

I encourage you to grant this license transfer, ensure that Holtec follows through on its commitment to responsibly manage the decommissioning trust fund, and ensure that our community remains a vibrant place to live, work, and raise a family.

Sincerely, Pauline Wendzel State Representative
