SUBJECT:

CLINTON SAFETEAM INSPECTION On February 12 I had a discussion with Pat Gwynn about our concerns and plans resolving the Safeteam Inspection issue. I indicated to Pat that what I was interested in was not a detailed investigation of each allegation that the Safeteam had performed (the 23 in question specifically), but rather I was interested in us looking at the results of those 23 to see if all technical issues had been adequately addressed. Pat indicated that he knew that they had attempted to find the ultimate resolution on two hardware issues and that  ;

they had been unable to obtain adequate closecut documentation on two of those issues. Both appeared to have substantial potential for safety related concerns. Pat asked if he could prepare additional information to put in the report from that what he already had to see if it would satisfy the concerns ,

that I had expressed. He thought he could do that in a short time period. I indicated that I did not know what plans Bob may have made to provide additional inspection help, but that we would certainly review additional information that Pat could put together on the findings that the made and see if that may be sufficient to satisfy the concerns. y Based had already on this discussion with Pat I feel that we have some infonnation to indicate that the  :

Safeteam program may not have adequately resolved safety related information. '

I would still like to pursue getting that information for the entire 23 cases j

under question, but I am not interested in doing independent inspections the way we would do had the allegations come to us.
