This is in response to your constituent's, Mr. J. M. Boland, letter of in which he expressed concern over the increase in electrical March 15, 1982 costs in Santa Barbara, California and asked who would pay if the Diablo The Nuclear Regulatory Canyon nuclear power plants were not to come on line?
Commission (NRC) has no direct knowledge of the Pacific Gas and Electric (PG8E) Company's rate increase which your constituent cited, nor do we regulate costs associated with the cancellation of nuclear power plants.
You may wish to refer Hr. Boland to the State of California Public Utilities Conmission to obtain information about rate incre.ases and the-handling of costs associated with power pla'nt cancellation.

We have received and consicerec your letter of May 16, 1952. A meeting such as you propose is not consistent witn TES policies or witn the approved Phase I Program Management Plan.
