- E*
2.1 The purpose of the Safety Parameter Display is to assist control room personnel in the evaluation of the safety status of the
!lE pl ant. The SPDS shall be continuously available during all modes
- E of plant operation including cold or refueling shutdown, heat up
!! and cool down, power operation, and abnormal transient conditions.
Very abnormal conditions', such as Inadequate Core Cooling (ICC),

$8 (1) Radiation Release rkl
-4 (2) Core Heat Removal and Core Cooling (3) Reactor Coolant System Integrity .
Ei: (4) Containment Integrity j.i (5) Reactivity 0
- l2 The SPDS shall serve as an operator aide and shall be used by the 8l[= j, operator to quickly focus on confined abnomal areas thus limiting y3i the number of control room indicators to be reviewed for further

1.0 GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF DISPLAYS ,
Each display and its parameters are listed in this appendix. Each
$f i display is broken into five (5) groups of data description. These are as
- 53 ,
follows:
!!3
. j, (1) Description of Display Ii! (2) Display Conditions "i" (3) Data Selection lEI (4) Location of Data
!l$ (5) Source of Signals i'
A.
1.1 Description of Display A description of the display!s axis, range, and type of curves 1 ll, that can be selected. ,
l 1.2 Display Conditions :
1
/ A description of how the data is being displayed is in this l
+:>5 section. The description includes:
! l .-! (1) Color of the Parameter u;I i
2 (2) When Displayed ,
i E!! 1.3 Data Selection UE2 grx
,;iij The methods used to obtain a single value from the signals are listed below:
)
i
,i:
8 83: (1) Straight Average (1/n X < values)
E* g (2) Highest of-Multiple Signals
- ',
- (3) Square Root of a Signal

8.
lj 1.4.2 T-Cold Deviation Check O
g i When performing a deviation check on T-Cold, the RCP run j[ status flag must be checked. If the pump is not )
running, a deviation check will not be done on that

8 1.5 Location of Data 8i!
A g The location, on the CRT, of the parameter is described in this
- section. All parameters are positioned by one of two methods.
