ADDITIONAL INTERGRANULAR STRESS CORROSION CRACKING (IGSCC)
INSPECTIONS AND LEAK DETECTION SURVEILLANCE FOR GENERIC LETTER 84-11 (TAC 63136)
Re: Big Rock Point Plant By letter dated October 13, 1986, Consumers Power Company (CPC) submitted a response to unresolved concerns regarding the IGSCC weld inspection and leak detection surveillance requirenent guidelines established in Generic letter (GL) 84-11.
NRC staff has reviewed CPC's submittal and finds the proposed IGSCC weld inspection sample size to be acceptable. CPC's study of the lack of IGSCC at Big Rock Point is noted and of interest to our staff and the nuclear industry.
The leakage detection surveillance requirement information provided by CPC remains under NRC technical staff review. Our conclusions will be forwarded to CPC upon completion.
