Pago 2 of 5 ROl -7(S)

O II.

ACTIVITY NARRATIVE In this exercise, the students will perform emergency plant shutdowns.

The scrams will be initiated from both known and unknown causes.

During the exercise, the students will be exposed to other ONP conditions.

However, the major emphasis will be on performance of all items listed in the Emergency Shutdown ONP.

The simulator will initially display 100% power conditions.

The students will be assigned the normal shift positions, and special features are not required.

SUMMARY

Discuss causes of scrams.

Point out sometimes the cause of a scram is actually unknown for days after scram and final answer may be inconclusive. Reinforce the differences and similarities in action between a known scram cause and an unknown scram cause.

Discuss the purpose of the symptoms sections in ONP-502, order of preference for action, and reason for parameter changes during scram (water level, power, steam flow, pressure, etc.).

Critique teamwork, key parameter response

and proper communications.
