The Commission has issued the enclosed Amendment No.103to Facility Operating License No. DPR-39 and Amendment No. 93 to Facility Operating License No. .

DPR-48 for the Zion Nuclear Power Station, Unit Nos. I and 2, respectively.

The amendments consist of changes to the Technical Specifications in response l

to your application transmitted by letter dated October 15, 1986.

These amendments would modify the Zion Technical Specifications in accordance with the guidance contained in the referenced letter, Generic Letter 85-19.

These changes will eliminate the reauirement to shutdown if the coolant iodine exceeds one micro - curie per gram dose equivalent iodine 131 for 800 hours0.00926 days <br />0.222 hours <br />0.00132 weeks <br />3.044e-4 months <br /> in a twelve month period.

. In addition, the reporting requirements regarding iodine spiking and a number of' other minor administrative changes are also included. These minor administrative

changes include correction of position title, special reporting requirement i changes, and the specific activity reporting requirements discussed above.

A copy of the related Safety Evaluation is enclosed. A Notice'of Issuance will be included in the Commission's next regular bi-weekly Federal Register notice.
