l 1.3 DEFINITIONS 1.3.1 WEB (Walls, Embedments, and Beams)

WEB is a computer program, developed by Westinghouse, used to monitor and qualify embedded plates.

1.3.2 CPSL Drawing Comanche Peak Support Location (CPSL) drawings are computer generated and reflect the WEB database for embedded plate geometry, projected attachment size, and attachment location.

j 1.3.3 Embedded Plate Embedded plates are steel plates flush with the concrete surface and anchored to the concrete with Nelson studs.

The purpose of the plates is to provide a weldable O.

surface for future support attachments.

1.3.4 Footprint Loads (FPL's)

FPL's are attachment loads at the face of an embedded plate expressed in the LOCAL COORDINATE SYSTEM (see ).

FPL's for attachmento cust be calculated for two conditions - Design and Faulted.

These conditions are defined as follcws:

Seismic DESIGN

=D+L+T+Fo FAULTED = D + L + T + R +goFegs Where:

D = Deadweight Load L = Live Load T = Max operation or Shutdown Thermal Load R = Reactions Due to Water Hammer,' Valve Closure, Water Slug and similar phenomena, Fogo = oBE Load Feqs = SSE Load or ((SSE)2 + (LocA}2) 1/2 Load (where applicable)

Noter For PSE, the two conditions are defined as follows:

O DESIGN

=

Level A or' Level B whichever is higher FAULTED =

Level C or Level D whichever is higher b.

Non-Seismic Each discipline or discipline designee shall apply a seismic factor to the deadweight load as dictated by their governing procedures.

1.3.5 Attachment

" Attachment" is any permanent steel welded to the face of an embedded plate. Threaded Nelson studs used for one support shall be classified as one attachment if the distance from the centerline of one Nelson stud to the next does not exceed 12" (e.g. Junction boxes, conduit straps, etc.)

1.3.6 Field Engineering

" Field Engineering" is the Brown & Root organization responsible for surveying and for performing field walkdowns.

2.2 Support No. and Support Attachment No.

Enter the support number.

When the support number is not available, a unique number shall be temporarily i

assigned by SEG.

Temporary " support numbers" shall be replaced by the responsible discipline with a unique 4

identification number traceable to the load calculation 1

number.

The support number shall contain no more than s

j seventeen (17) characters (i.e., numbers, letters, j

hyphens and blanks).

If the support number exceeds 17 l

characters, the discipline must abbreviate it.

Each attachment shall be assigned a letter, beginning vith "A".

For example, if a support has five attachments, only three of which attach to embeds, then the first attach =ent to an embed is A of 3, the second B of 3, and the third C of 3.

For this example, 3 FPL 4

forms are required, one for each attachment to an embed..

!O c

j Q For attachments located in Unit I and common, lines 1 i

through 5 shall be omitted.

Line 1:

CPSL Drawing # - Fill in the CPSL sketch number and its latest revision number, obtained from the title block of the CPSL drawing.

l Fill in the number of the embedded plate to Embed #

which the attachment is connected, obtained from the l

CPSL sketch.

Room # - Enter the appropriate room number.

Line 2:

Fill in the attachment length and width.

"X" is the dimension of the attachment along the width of the embed; "Z"

is the dimension of the attachment along the lenath of the embed.

J Line 3 tsing either "left end" or "bettom end" (as defined in l

' ) as a reference point, fill in the distan=a in feet from that reference point to the center of the attachment.

of the attachment weld on the face of the embed.

Note that I

forces are in KIPS, and moments in FCOT-KIPS.

If one of the two load conditions does not apply, so indicate, by lining thrr. the appropriate box.

Otherwise, both load conditions must be filled in.

For loads and moments, three significant figures will suffice.

Note:

The responsible engineering discipline shall provide a sketch of the design drawing showing the weld configuration.

Line 8:

Check the appropriate line indicating whether the loads are " conservative" or " refined".

Line 9:

The precarer and checker of the infor=ation given on lines 6'through a shall sign their names.

Checker shall enter the date that checking'is complete.
