Enclosure 2 provides infomation on the status of activities perfomed under the Independent Design Verification Program (!DVP) for Diablo Canyon Unit 1 Auxiliary Building.  ;

In accordance with present NRC procedures for Board Notifications, the enclosed inforntion is being provided for your infcrmation. This infor- i mation my be appitcable to all nuclear power plants. I The enclosed renorandum discusses the lack of adequate quality asstrance on "superstrut" m terial used in cable tray, conduit, and instrument l

suprorts. Otablo Canyon Units 1 and 2. Palo Verde '.' nits 1. 2 and 3 and i Washingtori Nuclear Project. Units 1 and 4 have been identifled as having used this e.aterial. The staff is reviewing the safety implications of this mtter and will promptly notify you of any significant developments.

At this tire the applicability of this issue cannot be limited to these three fact 11 ties. Therefore, all Boards are being nctified according to NRR procedures. When we have evaluated the individual or the generic trolications of these findings, we intend to notify all appropriate parties.
