Dear Mr. Denton:

,By letter dated April 5, 1985, Duke submitted a proposed license amendment to revise the minimum required ice bed weight required by Technical Specifications.

Recently, Duke determined that an error existed in the input assumptions to the computer code that was used to provide the technical justification for the proposed ice bed weight revision. Details of this determination are contained in McGuire Licensee Event Report (LER) 369/85-29 dated October 31, 1985.

Accordingly, Duke withdraws the proposed license amendment regarding reduced ice weight.
