G. The Offsite Dose Calculation Manual (ODCM) was revised in February of 1997 The revision is another step in implementing a uniform radiological effluent monitoring program (REMP) consistent among all Commonwealth Edison sites. The primary changes include reducing the frequency with which iodine cartridges are changed out from the eight (8) environmental monitoring stations from weekly to bi-weekly, and adding a third groundwater monitoring well sampling locatiori which is downgradient from Byron Station.
The site specific portion of the ODCM was revised in October of 1997 The revision reflected updated sampling locatiers based on a 1997 survey performed using a global positioning syatem. Additionally, surveillance requirements for the newly constructed Old Steam Generator Storage Facility were added. The changes do not affect the level of safety of the plant or affect the dose to the public or environment. A copy of the latest revision of the ODCM was submitted to the NRC under a separate cover by Cored's, Health Physics Support Dept.

RADIOACTIVE EFFLUENT RELEASE REPORT STEAM GENERATOR REPLACEMENT PROJECT RELATED GROUND LEVEL RELEASES During the Steam Generator Replacement Project (SGRP) several new effluent pathways were created to support the removal and installation of Steam Generators (S/Gs)in Unit 1 Containment. Approximately 63 uCi of particulate activity was calculated to have been released via SGRP related ground level effluent pathways during 1997, using conservative assumptions. No radioiodines were identified at any effluent sampling point during the course of the project.
