Inspection No. 50-219/88-14
This refers to the routine safety inspection conducted by Mr. C. Woodard of
this office on May 16-20, 1988 at Oyster Creek of activities authorized by NRC
License No. DPR-16 and to the discussions of our findings held by Mr. Woodard
with yourself at the conclusion of the inspection.
Areas examined during this inspection are described in the NRC Region I
Inspection Report which is enclosed with this letter. Within these areas, the
inspection consisted of selective examinations of procedures and representative
records, interviews with personnel, and observations by the inspector.
The inspection findings indicate thct cartain activities appeared to violate
,
NRC requirements and other ar.tivities arreared to deviate from a com:nitment to
the NRC. The violation and deviation, with pertinent references, are described
in the enciesed Appendix A and B Notices.
Corrective actions to eliminate the
violation and prevent reoccurrence were completed prior to the end of the
inspection, therefore, a reply to this Notice of Violation is not required.
The elements to be included in your response to the Notice of Deviation are
described in the enclosed Appendix B Notice.
The responses directed by this letter and the accompanying Notice are not
subject to the clearance procedures of the Office of Management and Budget
as required by the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1980, PL 96-511.
