s APPENDIX A NOTICE OF VIOLATION GPU Nuclear Corporation Docket No. 50-219 Oyster Creek License No. DPR-16 During the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) inspection conducted May 16-20, 1988, a violation of NRC requirements was identified. The vio-lation involved an inoperable pressure switch on Sprinkler System Number 15.
In accordance with the "General Statement of Policy and Procedure for NRC Enforcement Actions," 10 CFR Part 2, Appendix C (1988), the violation is listed below.
Technical Specification 3.12.A.1 requires the pressure switch associated with Sprinkler System Number 15, Fire Zone 08-FZ-22A, to be operable.
Contrary to the above, on May 16, 1988 the NRC inspector found the isolation valve to this pressure switch closed. This isolation valve being closed results in the pressure switch not being able to perform its design function and is therefore inoperable.
This is a Severity Level V violation (Supplement I).
