The U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Comission (the Ccenission) has granted an l
exemption free the requirements of 10 CFM Part 20 "Standards for Protection Against Radiation,' to the Pacific Gas and Electric Company (the licensee).
j This exemption related to the definition of "calendar cuarter" provided in 10 CFR Part 20.3(a)(4). The basis for this action is set forth in the I
Conssission's Letter of Exemption and related Safety Evaluation dated December 31. 1981.

The Commission has determined that the granting of this exemption will l
not result in any significant environmental tapact and that pursuant to 10 CFR 6
Section 51.5(d)(4) an environmental 1spect statement or negative declaration and environmental tapact appraisal need not be prepared in connection with this action.
