Stallo, Chief Reactor Systems Branch Directorate of Licensing RE14AD FVEL FOR OYSTER CREEK A recent letter from Jersey Central Power and Light Comp.ny requested authorisation to reload the Oyster Creek Nuclear Generating Station with fuel manufactured by Exxon Nuclear (formerly Jersey Nuclear).

A member of the ACKS has recruested that the Staff describe the procedures bases, criteria, etc. that will be applied in the review of this reload fuel and the extent to which the ACES will be asked to participate.

I understand that the Regulatory Staff will be prepared to discuss this item during the 156th ACRS meeting and time is being scheduled 4

for this discussion.
