l O 35 .75 Criteria for-release of individuals containing radiopharmaceuticals or permanent implants.

(a) The licensee may release from its control any individual who has been administered radiopharmaceuticals or permanent implants containing radioactive material if the TEDE to any other individual from exposure to the-released individual is not likely to exceed 5 millisieverts (0.5 rem).

[b) The licensee shall provide the released individual with instructions, sncluding written instructions, on actions recommended to maintain doses to other individuals ALARA if the TEDE to any other individual is likely to exceed 1 millisievert (0.1 rem). If the released individual may be breast-feeding an infant or child, the instructions shall also include (1 guidance on the interruption of breast-feeding and (ii) information on the c)onsequences of failing to follow the guidance.

1 (c) The licensee shall maintain a record of the basis for authorizing the release of an individual for 3 years if: gg (1) The TEDE to the maximally exposed indivi al is calculated using an occupancy factor other than 0.25 at 1 meter, the biological or effective half-life,' or%a fector ss, %that considers the shielding by tissue.

(2) The TEDE to a breast-fed infant or child is likely to exceed 500 mrem assuming no interruption of breast-feeding.
