By letter dated November 6, 1996, Houston Lighting & Power Company (HL&P) i responded to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission's (NRC's) RAI related to Generic Letter 92-08, "Thermo-Lag 330-1 Fire Barriers." The NRC staff, in conjunction with its contractor, Sandia National Laboratories, has reviewed the November 6,1996, letter and has 3dentified a number of open issues and concerns requiring clarification (enclosed).
It is requested that HL&P provide the additional information requested in the enclosure within 60 days from the date of this letter.
