Idaho Operations Office ANC TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE TO DSS DURING THE TRANSITION QUARTER (JULY l TO SEPTEMBER 30, 1976) - CONTAINMENT EVALUATION NRR Letter No. 186 This memorandum provides guidance to ANC for technical assistance to the Division of Systems Safety in the area of safety-related reactor-licensing problems. The specific program, " Containment Evaluation,"

as defined in ray memorandum of July 2,1976 is herein amended to include an additional subtask, " Safety Relief Valve Evaluation,"

which is a carryover from FY-76. Enclosed is the scope of work for the Transition Quarter. The funding level for this additional sub-task is estimated at $15,000 and is provided in the DSS Financial Plan (No. 20-19-02-13) under DSS Financial Identification Number (FIN)

A6009. This brings the total allotment for the " Containment Evaluation" program to $75,000.

At the end of the quarter, a final report on this subtask should be submitted to Mr. John Kudrick, Section Leader, Section A, Containment Systems Branch. The cognizant engineer for tne subject subtask is Mr. Nelson Su; both individuals may be reached at 301-492-7711.
