SUBJECT:
SER INPUT FOR V0GTLE, UNITS 1 AND 2 The purpose of this memo is to outline guidelines for providing Vogtle SER input to DL. The due date for input to the PM is April 1,1985. The majority of the draft SER has been edited by the editorial section.
In order to take j
advantage of this time already spent on this task by minimizing reediting and f
retyping of the same material at the SER stage, we are requiring that a neat j
markup of the DSER be provided as input. The original markup should be attached
]7 to the project manager's copy of your transmittal memo.
If changes to the DSER are extensive you may have them typed by CRESS and then mark on the newly typed copy where the changes or additions have been made. Again the original would be part of the project manager's copy.
t The reviewers will be receiving a copy of the November 6 DSER as an enclosure to this memo if they have not already received one. The supplemental DSER contain-ing the late input should be sent to the applicant shortly at which time appro-priate reviewers will be provided copies.

Again due to the editing time spent on the DSER, it is important not to change standard editing changes.
For instance, "we" has been changed to "the staff" and should be kept this way in your transmittal.
The following standard abbre-viations should be useq:
l RG Regulatory Guide j
BTP Branch Technical Position f
Also, the standard abbreviation for Vogtle Electric Generating Plant, Units 1 s
q and 2 is Vogtle not VEGP. Please adhere to these conventions.
l It is important that these guidelines be understood and followed to facilitate a smooth SER compilation and your cooperation is appreciated.
If there are any questions, contact the project manager, Melanie Miller, X24259.
