RESULTS OF OPERATOR LICENSING EXAMINATIONS FOR SECOND QUARTER FY 1983
Purpose:
To infonn the Commissioners of examination and licensing activities for Reactor Operators and Senior Reactor
, Operators for January 1,1983 through March 31, 1983.
Discussion: The enclosed table reports licensing action results, including issuances, denials or withdrawals and pass / fail rate for each NRC licensing examination component.
The total number of licensing actions processed in the second quarter FY 1983 was approximately the same as for the first quarter FY 1983, (SECY 83-72A). The pass / fail rate remained consistent during the period. Most of the failures continue to occur on the written portion of the examination.
As a result of the regionalization effort, we expect the examination processing time to be reduced and the data input into the Operator Licensing Tracking Systen to be
- maintained on a current basis. Therefore, we plan to include in the next report the results by region from the third and fourth quarters of FY 1983. The report will also include results of the requalification examinations, which commenced in May 1983. Subsequent reports will include results from the preceding quarter.
