w Asm NGTON, D. C. 20555 JUN 2 71984 NOTE FOR: Joseph 0. Bunting, Jr., Chief Policy and Program Control Branch, WM John J. Sunneier, Section Leader Policy Section Policy and Program Control Branch, WM FROM:
Barbara Thomas Policy Section Policy and Program Control Branch, WM
SUBJECT:
MEETING REPORT - DOE'S ADVISORY PANEL ON ALTERNATIVE MEANS OF FINANCING AND MANAGING RADIOACTIVE WASTE FACILITIES, June 27-28, 1984 I attended the afternoon session of the AMFM Panel meeting on June 27, 1984. The tentative agenda released earlier indicated that a major topic to be covered would be "D0E Waste Fund Management," my reason for attending.
This topic, however, was not singled out at the afternoon session.
The Par.el has reached the stage where it is scoping its report to the DOE Secretary, which will submitted before the Secretary must report to Congress on the AMRM subject by January 7,1984 (Section 303 of NWPA). Accordingly, the focus of the session was the preparation of elements of the Panel's report, e.g., mission statement, as well as organizing coverage. The final agenda for the June session is enclosed.
In tenn of matters relating to the Waste Fund, mention was made of a revised updated CB0 study just out concerning revenues and projections and other aspects. No specific citation was given.
I presume that this is something Mike Kearney follows, but let me know if you want me to track it down.
