ALLEGER'S COMPLAINT RE: BIG FOCK POINT VALVE TAMPERING INCIDENT (50-155) (AMS NO. Rill-87-A-0042) On March 21, 1988, the alleger in the Big Rock Point valve tampering incident /alleg6 tion (ANS fo. Rlll-87-A-0042) telephoned Region III Security Inspector Gary L. _Pirtle to. complain that Region III _ had not. Informed him of? the NRC's resolution of his concerns. Pirtle's memorandum, Jacumenting the-March 21, 1988 infor mation', is enclosed. l. The Region III investigation and Compliance Specialist wrote.to the-alleger _on. November 23, 1907,Jan_d informed-him of the resolution of his other-concerns. In that letter, he was also informed the valve tampering-issue was still under l review by the Nuclear Regulatory Commi5siori. At that time'the matter had been referred to the Office of-Investigations; however,-01:RII_l--has subsequently l returned the matter to Region III. The issue is.still under review by_ l Region Ill. l-The. Enforcement and Investigation Coordination Staff in conjunction with the-Safeguards and Security Section reviewed 'he i1spection report: pertaining -to; L the _ valve tampering incident / allegation and determined that a: portion of the report can be'sent to the general,public. However,_ another section of that-report remains exer"pt from disclosure sincel that section _ contains Safeguards Information.
