ABNORMAL OCCURRENCE REPORT TO CONGRESS FOR FOURTH QUARTER CY 1984 In response to your request for information to be included in the subject report, the Region I staff knows of no events to propose as abnormal occurrences for October, November and December,1984.
Your memo requested updated information on A0 84-10: Loss of Offsite and Onsite AC Electric Power (Susquehanna Unit 2). This information was provided with our comments on the Third Quarter CY 1984 report.
An agreement state event resulted in Am-241 contamination of sewage sludge ash and workers' homes, clothing and cars. This event is described with two similar events in IE Information Notice 84-94. A great deal of local media interest was generated, along with such regulatory interest as Temporary Inspection Instruc-tions and proposed research. These events are recommended for Appendix C because of this widespread interest and the lessons learned from the situations.
No abnormal occurrence criteria were met by these events.
