The Commission was briefed by the staff on their preliminary views regarding possible enforcement action against Mississippi Power and Light Company for violations involving material false statement.

1 The Commission requested that OGC respond to the petition from Jacksonians United for Workable Energy Policies base on input from OIA.

9/7/84) 3 The Commission requested the staff to examine the contents of a letter from Congressman Markey on July 30, 1984 and consider them in a proposed enforcement action if appropriate.

The staff indicated that it would submit a recommended enforcement package to the Commission in 2-4 weeks.

Commissioner Bernthal asked that he be provided with a broader summary of the comments made by Mr. DeYoung reflecting on the generic difficulties of licensees and utilities' understanding and carrying out the details of their license and technical specifications.
